Smoking Kills

One puff, many problems.

I'm not writing this from a textbook. For more than fifteen years I was addicted to cigarettes and marijuana. It started the way it starts for most people: one puff, offered casually, that felt like nothing. It never stayed one puff.

Addiction doesn't announce itself. It quietly rearranges your life around the next smoke: the money that disappears, the cough you stop noticing, the mornings that can't begin until you've lit up, the people you keep at arm's length so they won't see how tight its grip is. Marijuana promised calm and quietly took focus, drive and time in return.

That's why this campaign exists. "One Puff, Many Problems" speaks honestly about what smoking does to the body, the mind, your money and the people who love you, without the scare tactics that make people tune out. If you smoke, I'm not here to judge you; I know exactly where you are. If you're thinking about starting, hear it from someone who has lived it: the first puff is never just one.

And if you're trying to quit, you don't have to do it alone.
